Direct Impaqt has proudly supported the Columbia Farmers Market since 2009 when our vice president, Kim Harrison decided to become a market vendor and sell grass-fed beef and lamb products. Kim and her husband, John, own Harrison Valley Farms. John is also a production manager at Direct Impaqt’s Millersburg distribution center by day. Together, Kim and John burn the candle at both ends – printing and mailing by day and often farming by flashlight and four-wheeler headlight at night.

Our Small Business Helping Other Small Businesses Equals People Helping People

We’ve offered our design, printing and mailing services to the Columbia Farmers Market manager since 2009, and even though Harrison Valley Farms no longer has a booth at the market, we continue to help mid-Missouri’s small farming businesses raise awareness and reach a broader audience than they could otherwise.

Real-World Printing & Mailing Results Featuring Real Local Food

Our printing projects include designing and printing the market’s annual Farm-to-Table dinner advertising posters and menus. This event involves a local Columbia chef working with products donated by market vendors to prepare and serve dinner to attendees. The event is held at a local farm with benefits typically going toward supporting a community orientated project the Columbia Farmers Market has selected. Direct Impaqt also prints the Columbia Farmers Markets’ annual reports and special educational materials.

The most recent project involves a direct mail postcard with a special focus: creating more awareness about being able to use SNAP (Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program — formerly called Food Stamps) services to purchase food at the Columbia Farmers Market. Direct Impaqt is working with a team from the Columbia Farmers Market. Corrina Smith, Market Manager, and Kenneth Pigg and Chad Christensen of Sustainable Farms & Communities are collaborating with us to design a postcard that will be mailed out to select neighborhoods in Columbia.

The team has worked to use minimal text that relays SNAP and market location and hours information quickly and high-impact photos to highlight the great experience market visitors have each time they bring their families to the market to shop and experience the offerings of local farmers and artisans.

Special Offerings for Small Business Week

Direct Impaqt values our small business partners and the contributions they make to our mid-Missouri community, so we’re offering the following free design or redesign services for Small Business Week through May 31:

  • Free design or re-design of a direct mail postcard or flyer. Email us or ask us to come by and pick up a past mailer that you’ve used and would like a fresh design! Or you can even provide us with a sample of one you really like—maybe a competitor’s!
  • Schedule a direct mailing with us with a minimum of 1,000 pieces and we’ll design a new one for free! You pay for the printing, mail preparation and postage. We’ll do the design work. It’s that easy!

Direct Impaqt is honored to support our Columbia, Missouri and Mid-Missouri community in such an important way. The Columbia Farmers Market provides healthy food to residents who may not have access to it otherwise.
